Valley Jewish Community Center helped Operation Gratitude make packages for our troops overseas. The majority of the people helping were volunteers from all over the Valley and greater L.A. area. Our Platoon consisted of 15 – 18 Center Members. As an Army we packed over 3000 boxes heading to our Troops. It was a very gratifying experience for all, some of whom were repeat attendees, but, the majority of us were first timers. On behalf of the Center, I would like to thank all that attended and hope we will do it again in the future. In addition to the care packages, other volunteers were making Quick Deploy Paracord Bracelets, which is 7 ½ feet of parachute cord rolled into a bracelet that can be unwrapped and use in any emergency. Cards and letters were readied for shipment and Teddy Bears were stuffed and made ready for delivery to the children of deployed troops. The whole experience is an easy way to say thanks to our Troops who serve to help keep us safe.
